How long does it take to draw a caricature?

3 to 4 minutes per black & white face (~15–20 drawings/hour) for both digital and traditional drawings. Themed bodies or color faces take around 10–15 minutes per person.

What size paper do you use for traditional caricatures?

Approximately  11” x 16” once removed from the drawing board.

Can you draw themed or character caricatures (e.g., video game character)?

Yes! Our themed drawings allow customization. Photos or references help, especially for more complex ideas.

How many people can you draw in one picture?

Up to 11 faces on standard 11” x 17” paper. Want all your guests on one giant page? Inquire about our  BIG TOON  service!

Can you draw from photos?

Yes, absolutely! Great for people (or pets!) who can’t attend the event.

Can you make caricatures less exaggerated or more flattering?

You may pay for live events with Credit/debit via Square secure invoicing. You may also pay us via EFT if this is easier for you.

Where do you serve?

We are based in Toronto, where Toon Goons Art was founded and primarily operates. We proudly serve the Greater Toronto Area and have recently expanded to Vancouver, BC, bringing our caricature entertainment services to both regions.

Do you travel outside the GTA or Vancouver?

Yes. While our primary service areas are the Greater Toronto Area and the Vancouver metropolitan region, we frequently travel to surrounding cities such as Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville, Richmond, Burnaby, and more. If you're located outside these areas, let us know- we’re happy to accommodate whenever possible.

Do you serve events outside of Ontario or BC?

Absolutely. We can travel across Canada and internationally for events upon request. Additional travel costs such as transportation, accommodation, and per diem may apply. Contact us with your event location for a custom quote.

Are there additional travel fees?

Travel fees may apply for events located outside central Toronto or Vancouver or requiring long-distance travel. Fees are based on distance, travel time, and potential accommodation needs. We’ll provide a clear breakdown upfront during the quoting process.

How far in advance should I book for locations outside your primary cities?

For events outside the GTA or Greater Vancouver, we recommend booking at least 4–8 weeks in advance to allow time for travel planning and artist scheduling. Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability.

Can I request specific artists depending on location?

We’re not able to accommodate requests for specific artists. All bookings are assigned based on artist availability. That said, every artist on our team meets our high quality standards, and we carefully match artists to events to ensure the best experience possible.

Do you offer virtual services?

Yes, we offer virtual caricatures for online events. Artists draw live over Zoom or similar video platforms, or we can provide digital caricatures delivered via email. This option is ideal for remote events, virtual team building, or hybrid gatherings.

When will my artist arrive?

15 minutes before start time to set up and prepare.

What do I need to provide in terms of equipment for my artist?

This answer depends on the service you'd like at your event - for our traditional caricature services, each artist only needs three chairs. For our digital caricature service, we will need three chairs per artist, as well as a medium table for them to set up their equipment (printer, display monitor, Ipad).

How will artists dress?

Artists dress professionally unless otherwise requested.

How much space do you need for caricature artists?

We recommend approximately 6×6 feet per artist. This allows space for the artist’s setup and three chairs - two for the guests and one for the artist. If you are booking multiple artists, additional space or a 10×10 booth area is ideal.

Do you need access to power?

For traditional caricatures, no power is required. For digital caricature services or low-light venues, we may require standard electrical access. We'll confirm this during the booking process.

How long does setup and teardown take?

Setup typically takes 15 minutes, and teardown usually takes about 10 minutes. Artists arrive 15 minutes early to ensure they’re ready to start drawing at the scheduled time. If you'd like us to arrive earlier, we absolutely can! Just let us know and we'll include it in your quote.

How long does each caricature take, and do guests need to stay still?

On average, our artists can draw 15-20 faces per hour, per artist. Guests don’t need to pose rigidly - simply sitting or standing comfortably is fine. Artists often chat with guests while drawing to keep things relaxed and fun.

Can caricatures be customized to match our event theme or branding?

Yes! We can include custom logos, event names, hashtags, wedding monograms, or themed borders on the paper or digital template. This must be arranged prior to the event.

Can you provide liability insurance documentation for venues?

Yes. We carry commercial liability insurance and can provide proof of coverage upon request. Please let us know ahead of time if your venue requires documentation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. Cancellations made at least 14 days before the event are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event may incur a partial fee to cover preparation and artist scheduling.

Do you offer rescheduling?

Yes. If you need to move your event, we’re happy to reschedule without penalty, subject to artist availability. Please contact us as soon as possible to find a new date.

Are deposits refundable?

Deposits secure your booking and are refundable up to 14 days before the event. After that window, the deposit may be applied to rescheduling or a partial refund, depending on timing.

What happens if the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances?

In cases like extreme weather, venue closure, or emergencies, we’ll work with you to reschedule the event at no additional cost whenever possible.

Do you offer refunds for no-shows or partial attendance?

Refunds are not available for guests who do not attend. Our pricing is based on artist availability and preparation, which is reserved for your event.

How do I cancel my event?

Email toongoonsart@gmail.com as soon as possible. We don't charge cancellation fees but appreciate notice.

Don’t like your caricature that you purchased at a retail location?

Caricatures are exaggerated for fun - but if you're unhappy, return it for a redraw or full refund. We’re here to help! Email toongoonsart@gmail.com and we'll help you through the process.

How can my guests take their caricature art home from my event?

We'll provide each guest with a plastic protective sleeve for their drawings!
