Contractors working with Toon Goons Art are provided opportunies to draw caricatures at local, private events like weddings, birthdays, and corperate functions.
Contractors are paid an hourly rate by Toon Goons Art to draw guests at these events.
Contractors may choose to accept or decline gig opportunities at thier discression.
What equipment do contractors need to provide?
Contractors are expected to provide thier own paper, markers, and easel setup.
Event hosts will provide contractor with lighting, protection from the elements, and chairs for guests and artists to sit in.
How much do I make as a contractor for Toon Goons Art?
Contractor pay varies from $50-$100 CAD per hour based on experience (all events have a 2-hour minimum.)
Additional compensation is available for events that require extensive travel.
Who should not apply to this position:
Please refrain from applying if you've never drawn caricatures in a live setting. Toon Goons is looking to work with contractors who do not require additional training work gigs.
Contractor expectations:
BEFORE the event:
When an gig opportunity is provided, please respond as soon as possible if you're interested. Gigs are first come first serve, so this will ensure you receive the gig.
During the event:
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the event to set up and be ready to draw at the provided start time.
Please always dress in semi-formal attire, unless otherwise stated - events range from weddings to informal parties.
Please aim to draw at the rate of 3-5 minutes per black and white face (color, bodies, etc. may take longer)
If the host is interested in having you draw for overtime, please tell the host that the price for overtime is 1.5x our regular hourly rate. You will also be compensated for this overtime at 1.5x your hourly rate. You may note any overtime when you fill out the completed invoice form after the event.
After the event:
After each event, you will fill out an invoice for the services you provided for our records and your own.
You'll be responsible for uploading this invoice to your artist portal to receive payment.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE FOR CONTRACTORS:
Toon Goons Art will pay contractors out every two weeks on Monday. As we deal with a high volume of events, this system helps us keep everything organized.
We cannot pay you until all invoices for events are submitted, so please see the invoicing section for more information on how to submit your invoice. Any late invoices submitted after the end of the two week pay period will be included in the next payout.

How payments are made TO CONTRACTORS:
Payments are made to contractors via e-transfer.
You'll be able to indicate your preferred e-transfer address on the invoice form when you submit your invoice.
TAX:
Please note that your agreed upon rate includes tax.

TRAVEL FEES:
Travel compensation is determined solely by Toon Goons Art and will be communicated before a contractor accepts a gig.
Contractors may not add travel time, mileage, or any other travel-related charges to an invoice unless it has been explicitly approved in advance by our team.
Any unapproved travel charges added at a contractor’s discretion will be removed from the invoice. If travel compensation applies to a booking, the rate and structure will be provided by Toon Goons Art at the time the opportunity is offered.
